The name suggests it: we want to be the second dining room in your home. With wine at the center of a cuisine of simple yet unpretentious dishes, our chef Davide, originally from Puglia, allows us to offer dishes from the region that has hosted us for so many years. If I had to describe our space in one word, I would use the one that most closely relates to the world of wine: CONVIVIALITY.


The main course is meant to be about company, sharing, and why not with a glass of wine in hand? I'd say, however, that the only way to get a sense of the experience is to stop by.

LESS, WINES AND OTHER NEEDS IN FLORENCE

Less, wines, and other necessities: this is your home's second dining room, but in San Frediano. A modern and welcoming osteria, with air conditioning, outdoor seating, and a summer veranda that invites you to linger even just for a drink. A casual restaurant filled with the aromas of Apulian cuisine and fresh pasta, where the menu is written on a blackboard and the wine often comes straight from the shelf.

Our chef, Davide, hails from Bari: young and passionate, he knows how to transform genuine, natural ingredients into hearty dishes. At our restaurant, we dine al fresco, enjoy meat and fish, and uncork natural, biodynamic, sparkling, and organic wines, also available in bulk and to take away.

We chose the name Meno because we want to free ourselves from the superfluous: less form, less formality, less touristy stuff. Here you'll find true conviviality, home-cooked food, and a selection of wines to suit all tastes (and budgets).

A quiet corner, away from the crowds, where you can sit and take your time.

We're not just a restaurant. Da Meno also sells wines directly, offers tastings, and offers bottles to take away. Natural wines, of course—the ones that truly ferment and smell of the earth, not of marketing. Stop by even for a glass and a couple of Apulian taralli, which are delicious here even without sitting down for dinner.

Wednesday is for lions!

Every Wednesday, bocce is served at your table at takeout prices. It's our favorite excuse to share more good wine without breaking the bank.

Today, let yourself be inspired by Champ Levat, a Mondeuse-based red from Savoy. Aged for 12 months in used barrels, it offers intense aromas of fresh fruit, spices, and balsamic touches. On the palate, it's dense yet fresh, with lively acidity and smooth tannins. The finish is long and impressive. It's one of those wines that, if you forget it in the cellar, will thank you.


VILLAGE TUESDAY


Every first Tuesday of the month, Meno opens its doors free of charge to neighborhood residents. It's our way of giving back to those who live nearby and creating a genuine opportunity for socializing, the kind that's good for the heart (and the stomach).

Everyone brings something to eat, tables are pushed together, and a neighborhood dinner is born, filled with smiles, conversation, and shared dishes. No reservations, no set menu, just a desire to be together. "Let's do social media," but real ones: no notifications, just laughter and clinking glasses.
